Gauge

Gauge is not important in this pattern. However, using a different yarn and hook size will change the size of the finished item.

Notes

  • The present is worked in turned rows. The chain at the beginning of each round does not count as a stitch.

Present (yellow)

R1: Ch 5, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across (4)

R2-7: Ch 1, turn. [Sc] x4 (4) 6 rounds

Do not turn. Place 2 sc in the same stitch as the last sc from R7, sc evenly around the 3 sides placing 3 sc in each of the two bottom corners and finishing with 2 sc in the top corner.

Fasten off invisibly and weave in ends.

Finishing

  • Wrap a length of red yarn twice around the centre of the present and tie the ends in a small knot at the back.
