I’m Fay, the crochet designer and blogger behind Stitch by Fay. I live in New Zealand with my partner and teenage son.

I first started crocheting back in 2012 and fell in love with the Japanese art of making toys (amigurumi).

I’ve always been a creative person and have dabbled in a few different crafts over the years but crochet is the one that has stuck with me the longest. I’m also a qualified proofreader and enjoy doing some pattern testing from time to time.

I crocheted for a number of years following other designer’s patterns before I began designing my own in 2020.

I tend to keep my designs on the smaller and simpler side and without sacrificing form or function, as I just love that feeling of instant gratification plus with all the other distractions in life, it can be hard finding the time for larger and more complex projects (please tell me I’m not alone).

While amigurumi will always be my first love, it can be hard on the hands with all those tiny stitches so you’ll find that I have a few home decor patterns as well. I like to keep things fresh and when I’m in a crochet funk (let’s be real, it happens to all of us) it can be helpful to make something different from my norm.

You may not sell my patterns or claim them as your own. They are for personal use only and may not be copied, reproduced, altered, published or distributed in any way. If you wish to share my patterns, please do so by linking to the pattern but please do not reprint it on your site. You can sell finished products made from my patterns by crediting Stitch by Fay as the pattern designer and providing a link back to the pattern.
