Snowman Ornament Crochet Pattern

Let’s get this party started! We’re kicking off Day 1 of the 12 Days of Crochet Christmas event with this cute little snowman ornament crochet pattern.

Snowman ornament crochet pattern.

Snowmen are so fun and festive for the holidays. This little snowman would make a lovely addition to your ornament collection that can be enjoyed year after year.

The Inspiration

I love snowmen despite living in the Southern Hemisphere and enjoying a warm Summer Christmas.

My parents are both from England and growing up we would always watch The Snowman movie and play the board game around the holidays so snowmen are very much a part of my childhood memories at Christmas.

Easy Snowman Ornament Crochet Pattern

This snowman ornament crochet pattern is a quick and easy project made up of a few different pieces which are then sewn on at the end.

The trickiest part is the little leaf but you just need to take it slow and trust the process.

Yarn Choice

Cotton yarn is my favourite for ornaments and amigurumi in general. It’s durable and holds it’s shape well.

I used DK weight cotton yarn to create a medium size snowman ornament. Thicker or thinner yarns will result in a bigger or smaller ornament as will differences in tension.

Finished Size

The finished snowman ornament measures approximately 2.75″ (7cm) tall. Size may vary depending on tension and materials used.

Gauge

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Use a hook size to match your chosen yarn. Make sure that your stitches are tight enough to prevent stuffing showing through and adjust hook size if necessary.

  • Pieces are worked in a continuous spiral starting with a magic ring unless otherwise specified. Mark the first stitch of each round with a removable stitch marker.
