Easy Crochet Lemon Coaster Pattern
Bring a little sunshine to your table with this easy crochet lemon coaster pattern.

This quick and easy crochet lemon coaster is a fun way to add a pop of colour to your home while protecting your surfaces. They’re perfect for summer entertaining, brightening your kitchen, gifting or selling at markets.
The coasters feature a cute little loop stem, so you can hang them up when not in use, making them both practical and decorative.

About the Pattern
This crochet lemon coaster is worked in joined rounds. The chain 1 at the beginning of each round does not count as a stitch, place the first stitch of the round in the same stitch as joining.
We’ll begin by making 10 half double crochet in a magic ring and increasing over a number of rounds to create a flat circle, before giving it a little point at the bottom for more of that lemon shape, and finishing with my favourite trim.
The leaf is worked separately and crocheted on so there’s no sewing required (other than weaving in ends of course).

Recommended Yarn
I always recommend cotton yarn for coasters as it’s durable, absorbent, holds up well to heat and is easy to wash – all the things that you want in a crochet coaster.
For this pattern, I used worsted weight yarn with a 4mm hook.
Does this Crochet Lemon Coaster Need Blocking?
I did not block my coasters but you are more than welcome to do so. If your coaster is a little misshapen once finished, blocking can help it to lie flat and give you a more defined shape.
For easy blocking, pin the coaster to shape on a blocking mat, spray with water and let air dry.

tip
When working the ch 1, sl st combination in the next round, keep the chains loose between slip stitches.
R6: [Ch 1, sl st in next st] x52
Ch 1, sl st into a st in the round below that lines up with the point at the bottom of the lemon.
Join green yarn by pulling through a loop on your hook.
Place the leaf on top of your lemon and slip stitch around the narrow centre part of the leaf and into the same stitch in the round below. Ch 1 to secure.

Tighten the ch 1 and pull up a small loop of green yarn. Remove your hook, adjust the loop size to your liking and cut the green yarn leaving a long tail (I made my loop approximately 0.5″/1.5 cm).
To secure the loop, thread the tail onto a yarn needle and bring it through the back of the finishing chain from the top down.
Weave in ends.
