Crochet Mouse Ornament Pattern

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a crochet mouse.

It’s day 3 of the 12 Days of Crochet Christmas! Bauble ornaments are some of the easiest to create with so many possible variations and this crochet mouse ornament is adorable.

About the Pattern

This crochet mouse pattern starts with a bauble base before adding the sweet little ears and finishing it off with a berry and holly leaf for a festive touch.

Each ear is made up of two separate pieces which are then crocheted together before being sewn to the bauble.

I’ve used safety eyes for convenience but if you don’t like them or you have young children, it would look lovely with embroidered eyes too – Sarah’s Hooks & Loops has a wonderful YouTube tutorial for how to embroider eyes on amigurumi.

Finished Size

The finished mouse ornament measures approximately 2.5″ x 2.5″ (6.5cm x 6.5cm) including the ears. Size may vary depending on tension and materials used.

Gauge

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Use a hook size to match your chosen yarn. Make sure that your stitches are tight enough to prevent stuffing showing through and adjust hook size if necessary.

Notes

  • Pieces are worked in a continuous spiral starting with a magic ring unless otherwise specified. Mark the first stitch of each round with a removable stitch marker.
