Mince Pie Ornament Crochet Pattern
Day 4 of the 12 Days of Crochet Christmas is a mince pie ornament crochet pattern.
Mince pies are my favourite Christmas treat and I’d totally eat them all year round if I could so I’m excited to share this calorie free version.
What is a Mince Pie?
Some of you might be wondering if we’re talking about the same kind of mince pie. This is not the kind of pie made with beef mince.
Christmas mince pies are a small sweet pie of English origin filled with ‘mincemeat’ which is a mixture of dried fruit and spices. Quite delicious.
About the Pattern
This mince pie ornament crochet pattern works up really quickly. It’s made up of 3 pieces: the filling, base and star.
The filling and base are crocheted together and I added a piece of thin card to the base to keep it flat.
I opted to glue the star in place which means no sewing. However, I do recommend sewing the star on if the ornament is going to be handled by small children.

Finished Size
The finished mince pie measures approximately 2.25″ x 2.25″ (6cm x 6cm). Size may vary depending on tension and materials used.
Gauge
Gauge is not important in this pattern. Use a hook size to match your chosen yarn. Make sure that your stitches are tight enough to prevent stuffing showing through and adjust hook size if necessary.
Notes
- Pieces are worked in a continuous spiral starting with a magic ring unless otherwise specified. Mark the first stitch of each round with a removable stitch marker.
