Mini Halloween Eyeball Crochet Pattern

Mini Halloween Eyeball being held up to the camera.

Can we just skip to Halloween already? This Halloween eyeball crochet pattern is sure to get you into the Halloween spirit. These little eyeballs are the perfect size for keychains, magnets, brooches and bag charms.

This pattern is a mini version of my Halloween Eyeball Coaster Pattern and I just love how it turned out. They’d make a great candy alternative for Halloween and a fun gift for kids to give to their friends.

  • 2.5mm crochet hook
  • Red embroidery floss that matches your red yarn as closely as possible (I used DMC 321)
  • Stitch marker, yarn needle, scissors

  • sc – single crochet
  • inc – single crochet increase
  • st/s – stitch/es
  • (…) – indicates stitch count at end of round
  • […] – repeat the instructions in brackets

The pattern is written using US terminology and measures approximately 1.5″ x 1.5″ (4cm x 4cm) when using the materials listed.

R1-2 of the front are fastened off invisibly after each round and R3-5 are worked in a spiral without joining. New colours are added using a standing single crochet.

The back is worked in a continuous spiral. Mark the first stitch of each round with a removable stitch marker.

Start with a slip knot on your hook. Insert hook into whichever stitch you wish to start in. Yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through both loops on hook.

Invisible fasten off tutorial can be found HERE.

Leaving a longer starting tail than normal, join white with a standing sc in any st.

R4: Sc, inc, [2 sc, inc] x5, sc (24)
R5: [3 sc, inc] x6 (30)

R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
R2: [Inc] x6 (12)
R3: [Sc, inc] x6 (18)

Place front and back pieces wrong sides together with the front of the eyeball facing you. Join red yarn with a standing sc in any st and sc around (30)

Using a single strand of embroidery floss doubled, sew red lines/forks from the red border and spanning over 2 rounds – make sure you’re only sewing through the front piece.

Weave in ends.
