Bell Bag Ornament Crochet Pattern

Crochet bell bag ornament

I wanted a few more non-traditional ornaments this year and this bell bag ornament pattern is simple and fun.

Anyone else back playing Animal Crossing? The latest update and the Happy Home Paradise DLC has definitely rekindled my love for the game. I can easily spend hours designing holiday homes and facilities (total time sink ha).

This ornament works up quickly with minimal sewing. It is stuffed so it’s just decorative and not a functional bag but it makes a cute addition to my tree.

MATERIALS

  • DK Weight Yarn in yellow, dark brown and red (I used Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in Mustard Yellow, Coffee Bean and Pillar Red)
  • 2.5mm crochet hook
  • Polyester fiberfill
  • Stitch marker, yarn needle, scissors

ABBREVIATIONS

  • ch – chain
  • sc – single crochet
  • inc – increase
  • BLO – back loop only
  • invdec – invisible decrease
  • hdc – half double crochet
  • hdc-inc – half double crochet increase
  • sk – skip
  • sl st – slip stitch
  • st/s – stitch/es
  • […] – repeat the instructions in brackets
  • (…) – indicates stitch count at end of round

NOTES

The pattern is written using US terminology and measures approximately 2.5″ x 2″ (6.5cm x 5cm) when using the materials listed.

Pieces are worked in a continuous spiral starting with a magic ring unless otherwise specified. Mark the first stitch of each round with a removable stitch marker.

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Use a hook size to match your chosen yarn. Make sure that your stitches are tight enough to prevent stuffing showing through and adjust hook size if necessary.
